The Seated Energy Yoga-Meditation workshop promotes a healthy and harmonious flow to your energy system through nine exercises that focus primarily on breathing techniques. You will learn conscious breathing practices and simple exercises to regulate your inner energy in preparation for meditation.
These nine exercises can be a meditation in themselves or an effective body-mind relaxation and focusing practice used to transform your energy. The exercises are done seated in a chair or on the floor.
Bring a yoga mat or meditation cushion if you have one, otherwise one will be provided. We will also provide a regular chair if needed or preferred. No yoga or meditation experience is needed. If you think you cannot do yoga due to injury or stiffness, this workshop is for you. People of all ages and fitness levels can benefit from our Seated Energy Yoga-Meditation workshop.
This will be the only time in 2018 this workshop will be taught in the Chicago area!
- Class begins promptly at 10:00a. Be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early for check in.

In 2014, after over a decade of teaching at Relax4life and being one of our students’ favorite teachers, Kathleen Rankhorn has retired from being a school counselor and moved to the warmer climate of Wilmington, North Carolina. She teaches Yoga and her various workshops in that area and comes back to the Chicago area yearly to teach her specialized Seated Energy Yoga & Meditation at Relax4Life.
Kathleen Rankhorn is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) who has taught yoga since 1999. She is a certified Forrest yoga instructor by Master Teacher Ana Forrest and a registered yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT-200). She is also a Reiki Master and Quantum Touch Practitioner. She studies regularly with Lama Surya Das for Buddhist studies, meditation and Tibetan Energy Yoga. Her style focuses on balancing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspect of each student. Combining a unique understanding of body mechanics, her classes are individually tailored to meet the needs of students new to yoga through advanced-level practitioners.
